Local sights

The town of Menton is a stone’s throw from Monaco, a few kilometres from Nice, Cannes, and the famous Italian markets of Vintimille and San Remo which are strolling destinations to enchant you.
The back-country also offers unforgettable excursions in villages perched in the Menton countryside. Nearly 800 metres above sea level, Saint Agnès, classed among the “Most beautiful villages in France”, is also “the highest seaside village in Europe” and offers a breathtaking panorama of the blue Med.

Perched on a rocky promontory above the water’s edge and a stone’s throw from the Italian border, Gorbio has kept its medieval-city charm.

The village of Castillon, its green-shuttered stone houses, its many workshops, artists’ galleries and craftspeople, is also worth a visit.

The Merveilles and Fontanalba valleys, in the heart of Mercantour National Park, present a unique natural heritage:  36,000 rock engravings and exceptional fauna and flora.

la bella vita

Between Monaco and Italie

An ideal base to discover the locality and then tour the Côte d’Azur: the Oceanographic Museum. Don’t miss the Princier Palace, the many upmarket boutiques, the Place de Casino, the port with its magnificent moored yachts, or the church Eglise Sainte-Dévote dedicated to the patron saint of the Principality. So much to discover, that have made the site's reputation.

a city full of art and history

Art & culture

In the Old Town, have fun getting lost in the narrow lanes, a veritable labyrinth extending from the château to the sea and the old port district, and discover the past imprinted with baroque art. This will lead you to the Saint-Michel Basilica square and, a few steps higher, the Chapel of the White Penitents. You will be delighted by the little cool plots, and moved by Sosno’s sculptures. Be taken in by the beauty of the town’s seven exceptional gardens which made it a botanist’s paradise in the 19th century.
